We disagree.
We think comedy is more important than ever. That's why we're dedicated to publishing short-form comedic fiction. At Cackle Books, we take our comedy seriously. Hell, we have to. We're based in Texas.
We're 100% committed to the bit and in making space for laughter in the dang world.
What we publish
We publish comedic novelettes and novellas up to 40k words.
Our first title will release in fall 2026. We expect to open to fiction submissions up to 40,000 words in 2028. Want to know when we open for submissions? Join our mailing list!
We look to publish 1-2 books per year. The number of books/year depends on the length of the project. Different projects may require a longer production schedule.

If the machines want to entertain themselves, that’s their business. Our business is about people and the craft that comes from the human experience.
